What is a Postpartum Doula?
A Postpartum Doula provides physical and emotional support,
Breastfeeding support and helps with household organization after the birth of a baby.
She can help with self-care adjustment measures, give information on mother and baby care, and help you learn how to care for and feed your baby.
She can prepare meals, do grocery shopping, do the laundry or run other necessary errands.
A Postpartum Doula is trained to provide appropriate and non-judgmental support, information and practical assistance to new mothers and their families. She does not offer medical advice or assessments. If she is concerned about you or your baby she will recommend the appropriate resources.
Why hire a Postpartum Doula?
A Postpartum Doula is physical and emotional support for a new mom and her family. They have first hand knowledge of how a woman feels in the few weeks following a birth and how she can help that new mom and baby.
They care for those families who do not have relatives close by to help care for the mother and baby after the birth, or for those who need extra help after a Cesarean Section delivery.
